Life in the Research and Study Centre

In the last week of last term, we had several events where we celebrated reading and research!

Firstly, we had the 11 in 7 event where over 80 students in Year 7 who have read 11 books this year enjoyed a pizza lunch – you can see how much they enjoyed it from the photos, and congratulations to those students!

Next, we had our Eight Epic Reads event – 20 Year 8 students came to our movie and Krispy Kreme donut afternoon to celebrate reading 16 books in Year 8 – congratulations to those students!

The last event of the week was the Ancient World Museum on the Thursday we had over 200 Year 7 projects on display throughout the Research and Study Centre, all on the topic of the Ancient World, which they had spent the previous weeks researching.

Kennedy Arts Cup 2021

On Wednesday 5 May, we held the annual Kennedy Arts Cup. After auditioning over 40 students, our finalists performed their pieces to an enthralled college audience. This event is a fantastic opportunity for our students who excel on the stage to showcase their talents for their peers and they certainly didn’t disappoint! All performances were outstanding in their own right, but we would like to acknowledge the place winners:

1st Place: Stephane Migui (Forrest, year 12) who impressed the audience as he  performed an original piece entitled “Love and Hate”.

2nd Place: Rachael Sanju, Nami Dickson & Arpitha Roy (King, year 11) who performed a beautiful rendition of “Creep” by Radiohead.

2019 Arts Cup

On 8 May 2019, the College was treated with amazing performances from talented singers, musicians and dancers. 15 Students took to the stage to compete in this year’s Arts Cup event and they all did exceptionally well.

Congratulations to Megan Petrus-Kasim who gained 1st place with her beautiful voice.
