Year 11 Outdoor Education/Recreation Margaret River Expedition

The great Outdoors were explored by our year 11 Outdoor Education classes in Term 3 Week 10 and Term 4 Week 1. Students were challenged to push beyond their comfort zones in a range of disciplines.

For some, the highlight was the Mountain biking at ‘The Pines’ trailhead and along the Wandandi Track in Margaret River, for others, it was abseiling at the Wilyabrup Sea Cliffs and night abseiling into Calgardup Cave.

Life in the Research and Study Centre

In the last week of last term, we had several events where we celebrated reading and research!

Firstly, we had the 11 in 7 event where over 80 students in Year 7 who have read 11 books this year enjoyed a pizza lunch – you can see how much they enjoyed it from the photos, and congratulations to those students!

Next, we had our Eight Epic Reads event – 20 Year 8 students came to our movie and Krispy Kreme donut afternoon to celebrate reading 16 books in Year 8 – congratulations to those students!

The last event of the week was the Ancient World Museum on the Thursday we had over 200 Year 7 projects on display throughout the Research and Study Centre, all on the topic of the Ancient World, which they had spent the previous weeks researching.

2021 NAPLAN Results

In the past week, general whole school NAPLAN data has been released to schools and it is incredibly pleasing to see how our students performed in their cohorts in comparison to the state and national data. Once again, our students have produced year group results way above the state and national means.

Pedal Prix Kennedy Racing Team

On Sunday the 29 August our Kennedy Racing Team consisting of 11 Year 7 students, their families and Mr Gunter headed down to the Bunbury City Kart Club for the final WAHPVA Pedal Prix race of the year. The six-hour race started at 10.00am and saw 42 racing trikes from schools all over Perth and the Southwest, plus corporate organisations competing to complete the most number of laps in the six-hour time frame.
