We recently celebrated the academic achievement and success of our students at two College Assemblies. Students were acknowledged for their hard work and commitment to the College during a very challenging and different Semester One than what we are used too. And the hard work required during this COVID-19 time cannot be underestimated and anyone who has made the effort to achieve the best possible results should be congratulated.
During both assemblies we had a large number of students receive awards across all learning areas and we took the time to celebrate those who participated in the Interhouse Swimming Carnival at the beginning of the year. Congratulations to our King and Queen of the pool, Daniel Kempson and Phoebe Ashworth.
We then had a fun House activity and the house points were drawn for the final prize. We congratulate Bernard Pun in Year 11 for winning the Senior School major prize, a voucher kindly donated by iFLy Perth. And we congratulate Ben Broers in Lower School who won a voucher to take five friends to Urban Jungle Indoor Rock Climbing Centre in Jandakot.
The assembly concluded with a bible reading from Philippians 4:8, Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable if anything is excellent or praiseworthy think about such things.
Mr Ashby highlighted a few points and encouraged students to be authentic and not a fake. He said that we need to endeavor to be honest and authentic with our family and friends and that this notion is enforced through our Kennedy values. We call it Integrity.
