Special Communication from the Principal: Fees

Dear Parents/Guardians

I write to thank you for your ongoing support in these challenging times, the whole community has pulled together to make the best of an incredibly difficult situation. Now that we are beginning to see a possible way forward, I feel that the time has come to provide you with an update regarding College fees. As you can understand, this is a sensitive issue that we have been prayerfully considering.

Although progress is being made in fighting the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the situation could still change as the world responds to the ongoing crisis. We acknowledge that the whole community and every Kennedy family has been impacted, some more than others. With this in mind, we would not want to see a family facing the prospect of removing their child/ren from the College community due to financial difficulty caused by the current crisis.

We have looked closely at our own costs to ensure that our students are supported, and the quality of teaching doesn’t suffer. The College is positioned to potentially work with those families whose income has been significantly impacted by COVID-19 so that they remain part of the College community. For this reason, we will not be applying an overall fee reduction or discount.

Maintaining the highest quality of education sits at the heart of Kennedy, we need to maintain our team so we can continue to provide your children both on-campus and off-campus learning and to be ready for whatever unfolds in the coming months. I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere thanks to all our staff. They have gone above and beyond to provide off-campus learning, to continue pastoral care remotely and provide a hygienic/sanitary on-campus environment.

Ever since the College was founded, we have seen each challenge as an opportunity to “conquer tomorrow” and to be part of “creating bold futures”. This philosophy applies now more than ever and together our intention is to make 2020 a year that is remembered for more than the current crisis.

Many thanks again for your support and understanding, every member of the Kennedy community is in our prayers. Please feel free to email me directly with any questions or concerns.

Mr Mark Ashby
